This handy calculator allows a person to approximate the cost of a leak and the potential money that could be saved by repairing the leak in a set number of days. All you have to do is enter the steam pressure ( valid for 0.5 to 250 psig or 0.034 barg to 17 barg), the orifice/leak size (valid up to 1 inch or 25.4 mm) and the cost of your steam. Also, note that this calculation does not include the cost of the condensate that is lost which is an additional savings for getting the leak repaired.

This application allows you to perform the following calculations in both USCS and metric units:

1. The steam loss rate from a leak in a steam pipe (lb/h and kg/h) and the cost of the leak per hour

2. The total steam loss (klb = 1,000 lb and kkg = 1,000 kg) and the cost of the leak over a duration of days selected, up to 999 days.

This application allows you to perform the following calculations:

DC Circuits:  Calculate amps using HP, amps using kW, kW and HP

AC 1 Phase:  Calculate amps using HP, amps using kW, amps using kVA, kW, kVA and HP

AC 2 Phase 4 Wire:  Calculate amps using HP, amps using kW, amps using kVA, kW, kVA and HP

AC 3 Phase 3 Wire:  Calculate amps using HP, amps using kW, amps using kVA, kW, kVA and HP

Voltage Drop:  Enter the length and amperes, select the circuit type, conductor material and wire gauge

Power Factor Correction:  Calculate the required capacitor kVA based on the load, your existing power factor and the corrected power factor

Also included is a reference for 3 phase motor starters at 230 and 460V.  The horsepowers available are 0.5 hp to 150 hp.

Here is a quick and handy calculator that will determine the required pipe internal diameter for a given flow rate and velocity requirement.  All you have to do is enter the flow rate, select the flow rate units and then select your low and high velocities.  Note that the metric flow rate velocities are in m/s and the USCS is in ft/s.

You have a choice of the following units for the flow rate:  ft^3/s, ft^3/min, ft^3/h, gal/min, gal/h, gal/dy, MM gal/dy (millions of gallons), L/h, L/min, L/s, m^3/h.

There are two (2) calculators in this application.  These calculators are based on the affinity laws for centrifugal pumps.  You have the ability to calculate the flow rate, head, horsepower and cost to operate a centrifugal pump by varying the pump shaft speed or the impeller diameter.  You can enter the operational time in days and hours.

I would suggest utilizing the performance curves from the manufacturer so you can determine what your pump efficiency will be at the operating parameters.  As always, consult your vendor with the results obtained to ensure you have selected the correct pump, impeller, mechanical seal, bearings, motor, etc. to ensure you are getting the right pump for your application.
